Baseline has been running the Rocklab workshops for several years and a brief history of the event can be found here.

The popularity of the courses are such that attendances have increased every year and in 2003 we won extra funding from Youth Music to provide ongoing tuition to selected bands. This will make a great difference from the previous "see you next year" situation!

The extra spending is an exciting opportunity for both the tutors and the bands since the Rocklab can now be used to define the bands requirements before customizing a support package for the following year.

After Rocklab in Novemebr 2003 selected bands have an initial recording opportunity with me at Baseline studios in January/Febuary 2004. After this I hand over my reports to the other tutors about which tuition the bands would like and will benefit from, and let them spend the next few months working on the various issues. After my manic festival season I will record them again in October/November 2004 and will hopefully see the improvement in bands, music, technique etc.

To top off an exciting year we will be releasing an album of the bands work which we have not been able to do for many years - thanks Youth Music!

In the mean time we will make available some of the bands music (amongst others) via the music player on this website.
